HUIPPU

HUIPPU is a Finnish band driven by immense passion and youthful energy. Formed in the autumn of 2023, the group consists of six close friends who share a love for contemporary folk music. The band’s influences range from Nordic and Irish folk traditions to pop music. HUIPPU mixes traditional instruments with groovy drums and occasionally the unique soundscapes of the nyckelharpa and jaw harp.

Their debut album, Haikankärki (2025), showcases HUIPPU’s distinctive sound. Fresh compositions with catchy melodies, a light atmosphere, tight grooves, and seamless synergy between the musicians come together to create an experience that demands to be heard.
